Romeo and Juliet
A great classic of ballet history in the performance of Kiev City Ballet
Kiev City Ballet has many accolades. Founded nearly two hundred years ago, the distinguished dancers of the Kiev State Theater celebrate the audience with outstanding performances every year. The well-known company visits Hungary and brings us one of the greatest classics of ballet history, Romeo and Juliet. The team, which has more than 40 people, is playing in Central Europe almost 50 times this year. The band was already in five major cities of Hungary in 2012, and it was a great success. The professional skills of the dancers are proven by the fact that the disciples of the best masters of Russia and Ukraine are members of the team who could only be members of this renowned band after a long pre-selection. In addition to the dancers' domestic players, the best dance soloists from abroad (Japan, USA, Georgia) are participating in the ensemble who have proven their ability in high-quality international ballet competitions. The company was headed by Valery Kovtun from 1998 to 2005 and then by Victor Litvinov. Currently, the famous Ukrainian dancer Ivan Kozlov manages the world-famous company. The ensemble is now honored in Hungary after the major stages of international festivals, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Romania, Japan, Canada. We can be sure that we can be part of an extraordinary, traditional, classic ballet performance, where the best-trained dance artists guide us into the magical history of Romeo and Juliet.
The performance can be viewed at the Kölcsey Center on April 8, 2019, at 19:00.
